This was probably taken during a late night poker marathon in the back yard of Grattan St. I had just taken all of Joshua's money at Texas Hold-em. Some boxers keep climbing back into the ring, even though they've taken too many blows to the head. Cheers to those who don't know when to throw in the towel; we salute you.

Kung Fu Squirt

I had a doctor's appointment a few days ago, and an ultrasound a few days before that. Unfortunately, the pictures from the ultrasound aren't clear enough to post, mainly because Squirt is too big now to fit in the screen. But the good news is that Squirt is doing great; my doctor said everything is fabulous. Squirt now weighs about 3.5 lbs, and he really knows how to throw that weight around in the womb. It's non-stop action in there.

Last week, Brennan came down from NYC to visit us for a few days. The last day of his visit coincided with Barack Obama's town hall meeting in Fairfax, and I scored us tickets to the event. Mr. Obama was, not surprisingly, magnificent. Here are some pictures I took at the event:

Finally, here are a couple of pictures from Brennan's visit. We bbq'd in the rain -- twice! -- because, just like Obama's path to the White House, we're not letting a little adversity get in the way of our goals. Ha!

Does This Shirt Make Me Look Fat?

Here are some pictures of the bump at 28 weeks. We have another ultrasound scheduled for Thursday, July 17, so we'll get to see what's really going on in there. Judging by the current level of activity, my best guess is that Squirt is either getting ready to compete in the triathlon event in the Beijing Olympics, or he's halfway through the construction of a luxury condo.
